Electronic Newsletter

Would you like to receive your weekly teacher newsletters and monthly principal newsletters electronically or would you prefer to receive them via a hard copy? We currently offer parents and guardians a choice but as we continue on our quest to "be green" we may offer electronic copies only. What are your thoughts?

Tell us what you think! What do you like? What can we improve on? Your input is valuable to us!

Welcoming Opportunities

Kindergarten registration is held annually in February. The purpose of kindergarten registration is to collect registration paperwork, answer parent questions, and obtain a general overview of the kindergarten experience.

Kindergarten open house was started in May 2008 as a way to welcome incoming kindergartners and ease their anxiety about kindergarten. It was implemented as a way for parents and students to see the school, meet Primary staff, and obtain valuable information .

Kindergarten orientation, held on September 2nd, is a third opportunity for students, along with their parents, to become acclimated to the school setting in small, intimate groups. Parents accompany their child to school at preset times. Teachers review the student handbook, provide detailed schedule information, and welcome students to their classrooms.

We hope these experiences were valuable for you and your kindergartner. Please provide suggestions/feedback on how Albertville Primary School could make your kindergartner's experience better.

Parental Engagement

We value parents at Albertville Primary School. That is why it is very important to obtain constructive feedback on how we can improve. How can we make you feel more welcomed and valuable? How can we engage you?

Kindergarten Orientation September 2, 2008

Kindergarten orientation will be held on September 2, 2008. Letters with specific times were sent home the week of August 4th. Please call the office at 763-497-2688 if you did not receive a letter. Students who have incomplete registration materials WILL NOT be permitted to attend school until all materials are turned in.

POPS Group

Are you interested in reading the book No, Why Kids of All Ages Need to Hear It and Ways Parents Can Say It by Dr. David Walsh? This book is endorsed by numerous educational entities along with a coalition of 13 parent and health organizations. The book is part of a statewide campaign to say "No" and raise healthy, successful children. Feedback is requested regarding forming a study group facilitated by Ann-Marie Foucault (Primary Principal). Assigned pages would be read prior to meetings and a facilitated discussion would ensue at the POPS meetings. Please let me know your thoughts.
